After many years traveling to Isla, I am finally writing my first trip report. My husband Joe, myself (Tina) and his parents Butch and Kay all headed down this year. When we left, luckily the Minnesota weather decided to take it easy on us and we had an uneventful trip to Cancun, no delays. We took the shuttle to Gran Puerto and just missed the ferry. No problem, at least we are not rushing to get on and we have a little while to enjoy the beautiful view. We get the best exchange rate on the trip of 12.5 when buying the Ultramar tickets.
Leaving Gran Puerto
Once we got settled with our luggage in our rooms, we headed to rent a golf cart and grab lunch. We usually rent a cart from Cardenas, but they were out. We found one available at Ciros. Now off to pick up some lunch from Bobos, the four of us shared two orders of fish and chips. We had been looking forward to having the fish and chips since we left last year. The tartar sauce really makes this meal, it is so good!
After lunch we cruised around on the golf cart for a while and then took a siesta before 2 for 1’s and dinner at Brisa Mexicana. I forgot to take pictures, but here is what we had: chicken fajitas, arrachera fajitas, arrachera steak and tempura shrimp. Brisa has really tender and well seasoned arrachera, and at very reasonable prices. Everyone loved their choices.
After a long day traveling, we decided to make it an early night and turned in not long after dinner.
