We walked down the street to El Pueblito restaurant since wed only had peanuts and beer all day. A funky little hillside place that had one of those posts I had read about online a long time ago that says "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in 4 different languages.
They were also playing really cool music. We ordered 4 beers and guacamole for $10US and then ordered chicken tacos and a hamburguesa. We sat there and watched people come and go and after an hour John stated that he thinks she spaced the order. I said, how could that be when we communicated that you want "no mayonaisa!" Well after and hour and everyone had gone home I said "no comida?" (lunch) and she was so cute she started jumping up and down in embarrassment that she had totally forgotten! We said thats ok, tried to order again and by this time the cook had run out of chicken so John just kindly asked for the check and she started crying! So did I...that never happens in the states. We told her that was ok and that we would be back...which we will. Its the cheapest restaurant within walking distance and we are here for a week. Fueled by four beers and guac and chips we caught a taxi back into town and I bought about $40 worth of groceries...chicken breasts, peppers, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, milk, sugar, breakfast stuff etc. Oh and BEER!!! LIMES...how can I forget. Had a wonderful dinner on our patio looking at the lights of Cancun.
