Day 1 April 2010

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve returned from Isla. My first report was all about the airport. Now that’s out of the way, I’ll get down to the days and nights spent on my favorite little island. After repeated comments from family and friends about traveling to Mexico (after all the talk about drugs and violence), I scoffed and rolled my eyes. Anyway, THEY don’t need to know the best place in the world to visit anyways!!! After the airport stress, I hop on the Ferry (after the cabbie brought me to the new ferry after I had asked for the old ferry (how does one ask for that one in Spanish by the way?)

MASSIVE crowd incoming on Sat at airport in Cancun! Took ADO bus to terminal , cab to ferry, and away I go! Here I come! On My Way To ISLA!! rainy on way over, but I know it would be a short lived rain!! woooohooo!

My first thing I did when I got off ferry was get a bottle of OJ from the man who has the cart, there is nothing better than the fresh taste!

Does anyone know his name? I (embarrassingly) forgot it. My best Amigo!! What a nice guy! Savoured the nectar for breakfast in the am and in the pm for cocktails (to make my Sky and OJ happy hour cocktail! My last stop before heading back to Boston

I walked to my apt., say hello to my Isla friends, put on shorts and saw the sky was beginning to turn the sky pinkish/orange, so I grabbed my camera and headed to the beach.

1st night there I just so happen to catch the sunset after dumping my luggage off....BEAUTIFUL beginning to a relaxing week ahead

yet one more

OK..one more!! :)

My first meal was at my favorite restaurant Bally Hoo( no picture taken on this meal, was too busy scrarfing it down before I remembered) picture taken another time I ate there. Grouper tacos……yummmmmy

2nd day, Guac and chips....did I say Best fish tacos on the planet, the sweet sauce and the green caliente sauce on them.....ummmm ummm ummmmmmm!!!

1st stop.....Bally Hoo Grouper Tacos....MY favorite meal, and first meal I eat every time I go to Isla!!

Stuffed, happy, tired, I went to the grocery store, grabbed a few items and went to sleep, listening to the breeze, smiling knowing it was a beautiful start to a wonderful week ahead!
More to come.........
