Day 3, Monday. Another beautiful day! We open the curtains and I sit on the deck with my orange juice to wake up. Ahhhh.
We decide just to chill and eat breakfast downstairs at Comono. Im not the traditional breakfast eater and I order fish tacos. The girls order eggs and bagels...all was delish.
Right back to the beach for us where we spend our relaxing day. It was wonderful.
Lots of vendors come by asking us if we like to buy wraps and dresses, but I like to wait for Charlie. I think we made him pretty happy today.
Ive never had one before, but what would a girls trip be with out henna tattoos? Well, we werent going to find out. Nope, it didnt hurt. ;-)
There is an area Im just amazed with in the ocean in front of North Beach. Its so very shallow! We can walk out for a long ways and come to a spot where the water is only ankle deep. We wonder if anyone has ever brought lounge chairs out there and just hung out? ...next time.
Since its my last night, they let me pick where we would go to eat. I was craving garlic, I could smell it outside as we were getting ready. Rolandis for pasta. It was very good but, theres something wrong with the looks of the picture. I like to take pictures of my food but, this one just doesnt look good....gross rather?
It was a pasta with creamy tomato meat sauce and veggies. My niece has grilled salmon and I forgot to take a pic of my sister n laws spaghetti. We split some tiramisu for dessert and it was excellent!
We end the night at Miguels for margaritas of course and my niece signs his wall.
Tues, my going home day. It was beautiful out! First, out on the deck with my orange juice and soak in the view and sounds. Breakfast was at Bally Hoo, love it there. I had the BLT on a baguette, the girls had some egg dishes, very good.
The view below my chair:
We finish up and walk about town and do a little shopping before hitting the beach one last time.
We say our good byes and talk about doing this every year...Im in! I have one last Sol in the fridge and I drink it as I walk back to the ferry (its an Isla tradition).
I arrive Gran Puerto and buy 2 more Sols for the ride to the airport (again, its an Isla tradition). I met some very nice people on the ride back, one of which was carrying a cervesa with her as well...great minds think alike.
At the airport, things went very smoothly...the whole trip did. ...Except for the drive home. On the plane, we had to take a different route towards the end because of weather "south of Minneapolis". I remember checking the weather this morning before I left Isla and it said rain tonight and snow tomorrow. When I got to my car, it was raining and slushy out, traffic was slow going. Then, it was snowing and then snowing and windy! My husband called and said that it was snowing and blowing pretty good at home and to be careful. To make a long, scary story short....it took me over 4 hours to get home when it should have taken me 2 and 1/2. I didnt think I was going to make it and learned a lesson the hard way. Next time, I will stay in a hotel...it was the drive from hell and I prayed a LOT!!
Other than the drive home, it was a fantastic long weekend and I wouldnt hesitate to do it again. A friend told me, "The only vacations you regret are the ones you dont take." Ill never forget it!
