Today we rest after our whirlwind tour yesterday....its another beautiful morning and we start by having breakfast down by the pool at CoMoNo...then off to the beach to claim our chairs...OK we are the first ones out there...not too eager looking...A nice young man asks if wed like an umbrella...sure would..its gonna be a hot one today!...we venture into the water...nice and warm...but oh so salty....being from Alberta...we are not accustomed to salt water....it sure stings the eyes....although not as bad as mascara does (and I have not worn any for a few days now)...the white sandy bottom feels good on the feet...and you can walk out forever it seems....the water is so clear and calm...this is heavenly! We spend the morning going in and out of the water...heat up....cool down....heat up...cool down....the crowds are starting to come and soon the beach is buzzing with families...The Mexican children are on their summer vacation at this time of year and they all flock to North Beach to spend the day...if I lived here I would definitely do the same thing everyday!...its fun to watch them all playing in the water and the sand...smiling and laughing... to be young like that again =) I take a walk along the sand to the NW point and see that the beach continues on even further down....there is a dock ahead and I see a commotion of large birds so i head over to see what is going on...A fishing boat is there and the guys are cleaning their catch...throwing its and bits overboard...this is what has the birds in a frenzy...they looked big from far away but up close...holy smokey they are big...they are called Frigates...and the look like Pterodactyls! Again I forget to wear my flip flops and my feet are burning up...gonna head back...

We decide to go for a ride...we have rented a golf cart for a few days...we still want to head south on the island and tour around more....even though it is a small island there is so much to see...off we go! I need to do some beach combing...so we stop on the East side again...wearing shoes especially this time because it is quite rocky and the sand contains all sorts of goodies!!! Coral...shells...I am in my glory! Hubby loves the rough surf....so powerful he says....we hang and explore until we can take no more...

Back around the island...I think this is the 3rd time we have driven around it...and we are getting hungry...hubby wants to try pizza today at Rolandis...I can NEVER pass up anything that involves bread and melted cheese! We have our first taste of Ceviche...and even the hubby likes it!...he has become addicted to Habanero sauce...he now puts that stuff on everything...I tried it once...once...I think I still have a residual loss of feeling on my tongue from that....the pizza was great...

We head back to the hotel and sit by the pool drinking margaritas for the rest of the afternoon...Tomorrow is the big day for me...I am hoping to swim with the Whale Sharks...and I need to find Captain Tony to see if it will be possible tomorrow...again with MapChick Map in hand we head out in search of the Captain...it takes all but a few minutes actually...I knock on the door...and there he is...what a great smile!!! We are friends on Facebook....well he is friends with everyone actually...and I introduce myself...I am kind of nervous even...I have been researching so much for so long...I felt I almost knew this man...but I have never met him until this moment...I am almost like a school girl...once I calm down we sit and talk about the tour tomorrow...the weather is supposed to change but he has a group coming in from Cozumel...he normally doesnt want to take people out if the weather isnt good...but he said when people travel to the island they want to go even if the weather is bad...not what he likes to do but they have come so far...unlike people who are already on the island...it is easier to reschedule them...I understand...I am still here for a few more days so i could reschedule myself...but if the weather gets worse I may never get to go...So I decide that tomorrow is the day...I dont want to lose this opportunity. He says to be at his house by 830 tomorrow morning...and we say goodnight...

My husband has decided not to go on this trip with me...several reasons including seasickness...also the ride out is 1.5 hours or so...and we will be out in the middle of nowhere with no land in sight...he is not too comfortable with this and I agree with him...he still wants me to go...he knows how I have been looking forward to this...I love that man oxoxox

Our evening is uneventful...sill full from the late pizza lunch...we relax around the beach and hotel...and watch a marvelous sunset...730pm like clockwork...people actually cheered when the show was over...

To be contd.....
