I open my eyes and realize its our last half day on the island. I quickly close them and hope to open them and realize its our first full day! No such luck.
But we dont need to be to the ferry until 10am, so we have some time to relax and eat and pack.
I sit out on the patio for 30 minutes again enjoying the morning sounds and sights. We get dressed and head over to A&G. I am FAMISHED this morning, so I inform my partner that I will be ordering a lot. I order fresh juice, divorced eggs, side of ham, and french toast. Our waitress (I wish I knew her name, but she has the long dark hair and is an attractive girl) looks at me and smiles. His order: french toast and coffee. Now she laughs! Whatver!
Everything was wonderful as usual and our meal was 185p. How can that be? With all that I ate?
We return our golf cart and get ready for the walk of dread.
We secure our room for next year, bid Tomas and Benito goodbye and we head to the Ferry. We sit, wait our turn and wish we were the ones who were getting off the ferry onto Isla.
We enjoy the Ferry ride back to Cancun and our Best Day man was there to greet us and bring us back to the airport. We eat at Margaritaville and shake our heads at the prices--we miss our Isla already!!
I almost decide to tell my partner that I have left my passport at Chi Chis and we must go back, but then I realize eventually social services will catch up with me if I leave my kids alone too long. So, we must head back.
We dont have a straight flight back and have a layover in Miami airport...its never a fun trip heading back, so we promise each other that we will book a non-stop flight on the way back next time, too. Flights back were fine and I douse my sadness in a couple glasses of wine in the airplane. Its late, cold, rainy and 40 degrees when we arrive Mpls.
I already want to go back.
