Up and had my coffee on the roof again. Such a wonderful way to start the day...beautiful scenery. We went to Pepe's to rent a golfcart for the day. Got it for $50 for 24 hours, if I remember correctly. We took off for the south end of the island. We took the side that followed the ocean. What a wonderful drive! We went all the way around, then to the penninsula to the Turtle Farm. I really enjoyed seeing the Tortugas, but would love to have been able to touch them! One particular turtle seemed to like having it's picture taken...
We passed by Dolphin Discovery. That looks like something my daughter would enjoy. I'll have to remember it when I bring her next year. We headed back to Punta Sur to the ruins. We parked the golf cart and walked around looking at the little stands. I had my very first ice-cold coconut! MMMMMMMMMM....that was wonderful! I walked down to the ruins. Not sure what I think about the sculptures. They were nice, but just didn't seem to fit there. The natural scenery was much more beautiful (in my opinion).
We ate lunch at the restaurant there. It was good and the view was breath-taking. We hopped back in the golf cart and drove around some more. We stopped near Garaffon Park. We plan to come back to the hotel next door in a few days to try snorkeling. Another first for me! The water is just so beautiful here.
We drove around more and found the "shell house". How cool is that??? Of course, I had to stop and take a picture! We stopped along the way back to the north end and looked for shells. Found some really pretty ones. I found myself just standing in awe of this amazing place.
We took the cart back out after dinner for one more spin. We ended up at the beach and decided to walk along the water's edge in the moonlight. It was a beautiful night, and very romantic! ;)
