Day 2 (3/5/07)

We rose early, drank some coffee and ate some sweet rolls we purchased yesterday at the super express in town. We decided to take a walk and work up an appetite for breakfast. We had a wonderful breakfast at a small outdoor ranchero.

Continuing to walk, we decided to rent a golf cart at Ciro’s however by 10:00 they were out. However they said they had more carts at a sister location so we hopped on a cart and they took us to the other location (El Sol). We decided to rent the cart for 24 hours at 550MP. We traveled every road on the island.

After having a great lunch of nachos and quesadillas at Bamboo even though we ordered a chicken burrito, we didn’t send it back since it looked so good. We just ate and it was delicious.

We went carting to the south and viewed garafon.

We took the board’s suggestion of trying the baseball park tacos and you were right. We ordered several different items and covered them with the different condiments which are in huge bowls of freshly prepared “extras”. Be careful of the green chilies because they are hot but the Sols helped cool things off. Back on the cart to put our lives back in jeopardy driving at night. We have never seen so many taxis, golf carts and scooters as on Isla. There appears to be fewer rules on Isla and everyone seems to know what to do. We almost had a head-on with an elderly couple driving the wrong way. He turned around after we informed him. The street signs and one way signs are on the buildings which are difficult to see. You sort of have to see which direction cars are parked. We topped off the night with some wonderful ice cream. We had another great day on Isla.
