The Jones Gang, aka hogfamily, 2010 Isla de la Mujeres Adventures # 13
Return to Isla.
The morning that we returned to Isla a tropical storm was coming ashore on the Yucatan, Alex if I remember correctly, it started raining the night before.
We had another excellent breakfast at Carboncitos then it was time to head back to Puerto Juarez and the ferry back to Isla de la Mujeres.
When we arrived at Puerto Juarez it was really raining and windy. Michelle and Aunt Sue went on a short shopping trip to Wal-Mart and the hoglets and I waited at the ferry. It was actually on the cool side.
When we returned to Isla we checked in at Plaza Almendros, it was like a home coming.
The hoglets decided that they wanted pizza for an early dinner so Joseph and I went to Pizza Rock for pizza to go.
After a great pizza dinner and playing a few games it was off to bed as it had been a long day.
The next day it was still raining and blowing hard on and off so we stayed at the hotel and spent some time in the pool.
“Rain? We don’t care ‘bout no stinking rain!”
That night we had dinner at Fredy’s. It was the first time we had been there. Everything others have written about Fredy being a character is so true, he is a blast, and his son is just as funny. We had a great time with Fredy and his family. The food was great, the pork chop was incredible, the margaritas strong and he treated the adults to (too) many rounds of some awesome tequila. We stayed until he closed. (That night, not Tuesday.)
THE BEST PORK CHOP EVER!
Fredy explaining to the hogboys how to tell the difference between a green lemon and a lime……lets just say that the limes look like certain parts of the female anatomy……..
Fredy giving the hogboys their own boo…..ah..…limes……..
WE LOVE FREDY AND HIS FAMILY!!!
After a stroll around downtown we HAD to make a stop at Cool Ice Cream.
We ran into Mario he now works at She Bar.
When we were here two years ago he worked at Marino’s. (Now it’s She Bar.)
Yup, too much tequila at Fredy’s….
The next day we hung out at Plaza Almendros, swimming in the pool, visiting with the staff, and just taking it easy. That night we had dinner at Sancocho’s.
After walking around downtown it was time for bed.
