Monday morning we are up and ready to go to Chicago Deli and Pancake House. A couple years ago, this became another of our favorites for breakfast. Last year they added a palapa roof over the upper seating area, which is a really nice addition. Cesar is a great waiter that has taken care of us for the last 2 years. Today we are getting an assortment of different items…. Kay has the scrambled eggs, Butch has sunny side up eggs, Joe has a stack of 3 pancakes with a side of bacon and I have an American sausage omelet with cheese. The egg dishes all come with toast and shredded hash browns (which you don’t often find on the island). Everything is very delicious and definitely hits the spot!

This afternoon we drive out to La Gloria English School to drop off items for the students to make Valentine’s Day cards. Maggie has such a big heart and is so passionate about the people of the island and it feels good to help with anything we are able to give. Here is one of the fun posters hung on the wall:
We continue cruising around and make a stop at the women’s bead co-op to look around. I find a very detailed black and white necklace that I just have to have. We try to make it a point of stopping here every year. Today we are craving poc chuc again for lunch and swing into Kash Keken Chuc and pick up a ˝ kilo to split between the 4 of us.
It has been cloudy the last couple days, but this evening we get a decent sunset and have to take some shots.
After the sun sets we head in to our usual spot for 2 x 1’s, Brisa Mexicana, before dinner at Comono. We love the party shrimp at Comono and have earned the nickname “the party shrimp people”. Kay, Butch and Joe all get the tempura shrimp and I am always torn between the desire to try something new and getting what I love, so I opt for the tempura shrimp appetizer and an order of fried cheese balls. Jack and Jill, a singer & guitar player from Racine, WI are performing while we eat and it is nice background music. Everyone loves their meals! You always get huge, tasty shrimp. After dinner, we head over to Miguel’s Moonlite for some delicious rum punch and pomegranate margaritas and listen to Sin after Sin (otherwise known as Tips or Sex) for a while. We end day 3 with a stop at the infamous Bimbo carts & think of Carl while downing our 1st dogs of the trip.
This one’s for you Carl!
