Left early on the 6h out of St. Louis and arrived in Cancun right on time, made it out of the airport easy, hopped in a taxi, onto the ferry and arrived on isla by 12:00 noon. Off to the Gaviota. We stayed in the beach unit last year and we really loved it, but this year we were in the Upper Deluxe King -- sounds nice, but there was absolutley no ocean view. Disappointed, but hey, we are in paradise, so off to Lanchero's for lunch and cervasa. After lunch we headed into town to rent a scooter for our entire visit. We usually rent from Ciro's, but a guy from Angels flagged us down and gave us a great rate -- $230.00 for 11 days. Wow, that's a good deal. Named the scooter Steve. Not a grat scooter, but it got us around. The next 7 days consisted of beach, books, beer, and bed. We moved to the north end for our last 4 days and stayed at the Media Luna in the Jacuzzi Suite. Liked it, but I don't think I would pay the price for it again.

Our favorite food was from Ballyhoo. Absolutely great food and the best drinks this year.

Checked out several other places on the Sac Bajo area and Rotundo seems like a real find. I think we will try them next year. I talked my man into 2 weeks next year....yeah!!!!
