Isla Mujeres 2010
March 1 - 2
March 1 – Day 18
Up before the sun today….such an amazing and peaceful time of the day…..
I sit and enjoy the display….wishing that I could wake up to this everyday…..
Time for the beach!!! It’s the first day in a while that we have been able to enjoy Playa Norte without wind…..ahhhhhhh……
Barry gets comfy….notice the seaweed washed up on shore from all the wind….
Our gang takes over a big patch of sand….
Time to get wet!
I find a sea star but not quite sure it was alive or not….not a very healthy colour!
We stay on the beach as long as possible and then it’s off to meet some of the gang at Miguel’s for refreshments. We all start out well behaved…..
But then, the drinks begin to arrive…..
The girls are good….mostly……
Brian does his best impersonation….can you guess who?.....
And then sometimes, husbands are just a little embarrassing!.....
Don’t know what’s going on here….don’t think I want to!.....
But then, a sweet kiss and they’re back in our good books once again!
Okay, since I’m the only sober one here, it’s time to drag these folks off to find some food. Our noses lead us to Fayne’s. For one reason or another, we haven’t eaten at Fayne’s in quite a few years, but I am impressed. I have a salad, which was huge and very good…..
Vince has a steak…..it wasn’t super tender, but had good flavour and I had a few nibbles of the baked potato…..
Not going to report the rest of the evening, but suffice it to say that a very fun time was had by all!!!
March 2 – Day 19
Well, darn it all, guess who sleeps through the sunrise today…boohoo…..maybe I wasn’t so sober last night after all!
Once the eyelids do flutter open, carefully…..I am happy to see the sun shining brightly…..
A great day spent at the beach and when we arrive back home, we find Stacy and Colin just returned from a walk with the neighbour’s dog….a sweet dog that we feed goodies to just about every day. He’s now named ‘Lucky’…..because he’s so lucky to have friends like Stacy and Colin to take him for walks. They took him every day for runs on the beach…gave him food and fresh water. He was so happy to get out of the little space that he usually lives in…..
We enjoyed a great dinner at ComoNo’s with Stacy and Colin, and we are entertained by Fa Sostenido once again….great guitar players and singers. The evening was filled with lengthy discussions about our 3rd annual fiesta night….tomorrow!!!!!
