Monday morning dawned bright and sunny. Breakfast at Bucanneroís, time for our usual morning walk down the malecon, around the north end of the island and around to Playa Sol.
Note the poor mans toilet. :)
The Caribbean side of the island always amazes me with itís beauty. We were amazed at the lack of people on the beach, it was windy, but the temperature was decent.
We arrived at Playa Sol and Rogellio is there, YAY!
We decide to sit down by the water but the wind was blowing at a pretty good clip so moved back up by the palapa where it was nice, at least, for an hour or so. Then the rains came, we moved in under the palapa and spent a lazy couple of hours getting caught up with Roger. Had some lunch, the sun came back out and we lazed on the beach for another couple of hours before heading back to Posada for a little siesta.
Showered and changed, called Plu to head out to Chuuk Kay for our anniversary dinner. It about 65 degrees and the winds are blowing about 30 mph with periods of rain. When we arrived, it was obvious Ventura had put a lot of heart and thought into creating a romantic setting for our dinner. He had a table with fine linens set out on the beach with bags of sand with tealights leading the way out to the table which was surrounded by tiki torches.
It was so wonderful, bless his heart for all his efforts but it was too cold and windy to take advantage. He understood but wanted us to sit out there for five minutes to take pictures for their website and we were happy to oblige.
Our meal was fantastic, I had garlic grouper which was seasoned and cooked to perfection and Tom had shrimp which were huge.
Their wait staff is unbeatable and attentive.
We danced and had a wonderful time. I canít say enough about Chuuk Kay, it is definitely one of Islaís best new places to visit.
Tuesday, our usual breakfast and walk around the malecon. Again, it was windy and when we got to Playa Sol it was too chilly to sit down by the water but it was beautiful up by the palapa.
Roger and Tom always have this banter back and forth about whether Tom should have Sprite or cervesa. Me, I always figure itís 5:00 somewhere so bring on the cervesa, Tom waits until 1:00.
Tuesday was the day we met the sisters. Blair and Katie have been coming to island for over 20 years and they were a hoot.
We spent several hours conversing with them and learning even more about the island through their experiences.
