Day Three 2/28 "The Great girls get away"

By: sungrl (View Profile)
Date: 3/8/2008

Woke up again at 5:30...what the heck?! Oh well, take the time and do some light housekeeping and then go out for a run/walk. Julie and Denisa are still snoozing when I get back and will probably not appreciate this pic J!

Finally the girls are up and Julie makes some coffee…we add Bailys’ Irish Cream…..who would have ever thought I would like coffee??!!! I like it so much I have a second cup!! (Side note: The only other cup of coffee I have had in my life was a year ago when someone accidentally brought me a cup and I thought “what the heck” and drank it) I have never drank coffee before…now I think it is an isla tradition (of course with the Bailys’!) We get into our suits and decide it is a good day to grab a golf cart and go to the Caribbean side to do a little shelling.

The girls have never heard of sea glass before, so I tell them, brown and green common……blue is pretty special J……we have fun just exploring. We then move down to the south end…on the way we run into some guys I met last year, they are out walking and recognize us as we buzz by. That is what I love about this place, you can go about anywhere and run into people you know. NOT people from around home….not that they are bad, but people you have met and know from isla. (SIDENOTE: I was at a party last night and a couple showed up who had a pretty good tan….the questions came up…where have you been? Where were you?….turns out they were staying at a palace resort over in Cancun and had came over for they day on Thurs (today) and buzzed around on a golf cart…..how weird would that have been to run into them??? You just can’t totally get away can you?) Anyways we went down to the South end and hoped to see some iguanas….a little too cool and there were none out sunning……here is a pic of us at the top of the lighthouse….

We go out onto the “deck” area and soak up a little sun and a couple Sol’s. Life is good. We then move on and go down to check out the turtle farm. We feed the turtles and snap a few pictures. I tease the girls that I have flashbacks to my pet turtle “Harold”…my Dad brought Harold home to me when I was four and he remained my pet turtle for 25 years! Thinking he died when I fed him “tainted minnows” but who knows……he was a good turtle…..as far as turtles go J
We make our way back home an decide to kick back in the chairs for awhile….

Earlier today we had been in a shop and the shopkeeper referred to the three of us as “Charlie’s Angels”…we decide we are going out tonight and going by their names….first we need to google it and find out what their names are….ok..we are now Jill, Sabrina and Kelly…..we are only allowed to go by these names tonight. \

Denisa sitting on the deck of 404 and enjoying the sunset…..and a great sunset……

As we make our way down Hidalgo someone shouts out to us ‘ Hey, it’s Charlie’s’ Angels!” How the heck did they know??……another block further, we get it again??…..guess it was meant to be!!! We confuse ourselves and all others we know with our new names. Go out dancing to Jax, Faynes and La Pena…or Bamboo Too…..whatever you would like to call it. Lots of fun, dancing and laughter tonight.

Our friends Steve and Charles keep a good eye on us and keep us from harms way. We get back home and enjoy kicking back and getting a good nights rest.
