Mexico 2005

February 26 – 28 Day 3 - 5

“Adventure and Fun Times Ahead!”

February 26 – Day 3

The alarm is buzzing at 5:50am…definitely not catching up on sleep on this holiday! Out to the balcony to check out the sunrise this morning and it is very nice…what a great way to start the day!

We’re off on our annual adventure so we pack up a small suitcase and dash down the stairs to let Ino know that we’ll be away for a few days. He says…”You’re crazy!”…he’s probably right, but we laugh and hurry to the ferry. The fishing boats are awaiting the day’s activities….

We enjoy our little adventure where we celebrate our 3rd Renewal Anniversary. Happy Anniversary honey!

A perfect beach just for us…

We couldn’t help but laugh at this pair!…

Vince’s favourite little truck…

February 28 – Day 5

We arrive back on Isla Mujeres just in time to catch the sunset from the Roca Mar…

Ino was very happy to see us as he said we took the sun with us. Not to worry Ino, we brought it back!

We hurry and clean up as we are expecting guests…Colin and Stacy are coming over before we go out for dinner. I’m in the bathroom which has a slat window, and I hear…”Policiano, open up!!”. PoliciANO really threw me for a second and then I start to laugh…HAS to be Colin! Not quite fluent in Spanish yet! We welcome them in and sit on the balcony to enjoy a drink before dinner. They’ve been having the usual ton of fun so we’re really happy to hear how much they’re enjoying this little Isla paradise.

We wander Hidalgo, allowing our nose to lead us to dinner…although we did get sidetracked with a little shopping for the girls. As we’re walking along a fellow comes running out of his shop pointing to my bag. He wants my ‘Canada’ key chain. Sure, why not! But you have to give me something in return! He runs back to find a little black and white beaded bracelet for me and we happily exchange. Here it is, a month later and I haven’t taken that bracelet off!

We find our way to Bistro Francais. Stacy and Colin enjoyed a meal here a few days before and are happy to try it again. They also told us a very fun story about a cucaracha during their meal, so maybe we’ll have a little fun tonight! Jumbo margaritas, caesar salads and nice warm buns quickly arrive…

Vince and I had the grilled red snapper with garlic. It came with a baked potato, rice, green beans and carrots. I thought it tasted great but I was just starting to get a sinus infection so really couldn’t taste very much! Stacy and Vince said it was rather bland. Either way, we were happily full and the bill for all four of us was $437MXP including tip.

Time to wander a little more as the night is still young. We stop by Fayne’s to hear a bit of music and say hola to Sergio, friendly as ever! Hmmm…getting thirsty again and the music sounds good at Bamboo’s too…

The night continues with way too much laughter…this much fun should really be illegal! Not that we did anything illegal! With cheeks sore from giggling and my voice started to disappear, we all wander home around midnight with plans for dinner again on Wednesday…we need a day to recover!!

**Report Card
~Bistro Francais—Good service, delicious warm buns! Good Caesar salad (no raw eggs). Fillet was okay. Good prices.
~Bamboo—Drinks are good…2 Margaritas and 2 Cervezas--$135MXP. Service was a little slow.
