Isla 2011 - Day 12

By: JoeRocket2 (View Profile)
Date: 4/7/2011

On Wednesday morning, we are back to Chicago Deli and Pancake House and everyone gets their usual breakfast.

Later in the afternoon, Joe and I head down to La Gloria colony to visit and give our donations to the Little Yellow School House and LGES. After our previous visit to LGES, we have decided we really want to help by sponsoring a student. These are both great programs and any help people can give really goes a long way. On the way back to the hotel, Joe drops me off at Qubanos to pick up an order of Hungarian potatoes and he continues over to Bobos for an order of fish and chips. I meet him at Bobos and we bring both back to the hotel to share with Butch and Kay. This was the first time getting the Hungarian potatoes and they are tasty.

As we were getting ready for the evening, we notice that there are quite a few seagulls flying around the dock outside the hotel. We have some tortillas left over from yesterdays rotisserie chicken and decide to feed some to the seagulls. We go out on our deck and start throwing pieces of tortilla to the seagulls. It is incredible how many fly over once you start.

We found out the night before that Roberto from La Bruja was going to Merida on Thursday and thought he would be back on Friday, but he wasn’t sure when. Since we were leaving on Sat, and considering Joe’s addiction to the breaded grouper, we decided we better head to La Bruja tonight to ensure we get one last meal there. Joe (of course) orders the breaded grouper, Butch orders the arrachera steak, Kay and I both order the enchiladas suizas. Everyone really loves their meals and the service! After dinner, we head to Brisa Mexicana for a couple drinks and then call it a night. We cannot believe that 12 days have flown by already.
