Feb28 to March 6,

http://www.digitalapoptosis.com/IslaBest/

My family had a blast
to Isla Mujeres. We were there for one week starting Feb 28th. We
stayed at Playa Gaviota,. excellent location, secluded beach,
spacious apartment, huge showers. They provide you all week with
ground coffee, bottled water (dispenser), toast, jam, OJ, butter,
towels small and big ones. They do your dishes and clean
everyday. We were in rooms #3, great view of the beach and palm
trees!! Hummingbirds, iguanas, scorpion, snakes, huge
cockroaches outside . Geckos inside :-)

Food was excellent at Playa Lancheros, Tikin-Xic and Yucatan
chicken. Jax resto upstairs had the best guacamole and Lime Soup
and the kids found good chicken nuggets and corn dog and fries.
La luncheria Alexia and Giovani was really cheap and had excellent
Conch shells with garlic butter and good Lime Soup. We tried the
Cuban tiny resto Poc-Chuc (corner Matamoros and Juarez street),
very clean and great service and cost $20 US for family of 4. Good
Mole chicken and PocChuc pork and the kids had scrambled eggs
and rice with coconut shrimps. We went to Playa Sol and had
excellent chicken nachos at Charlie's. Great location and swings
and hammocks for the kids to enjoy!! We took a tour to Contoy
Island with a comfortable and fast boat, Contoy Express and the
snorkeling was superb and I snorkeled next to a 5 feet Barracuda.
It was such a thrill!!!! They served excellent Tikin-Xic too and soon
we were surrounded by hermit crabs and iguanas who were
waiting for leftovers. We visited Punta Sur early in the morning and
the view and feeling there was wonderful,..
energizing,,,mesmerizing,,.
I swam in the King's pool and it was the best!! Tons of fish there, I
felt like a queen there!!!
We will be posting some images in my husband's photoblog (one a
day) but I will try to post more of these during the week.
I just want to add that even the weather report did not look good
before we left Montreal, we had great weather all week long at
Isla Mujeres. We had 3 minutes rain one evening only. But we
occasionaly saw Cancun getting wet from our Island. Sun, sun and
sun was with us all the time. Wonderful island and very kind
Mexican there too!!! My daughter and I at some point got caught
in South Island forest, lost ,.. :-( but a Mexican family rescued us
:-) Be careful ok??? Got my lesson :-) Oh and we tried the bus
system on Isla and it is so much fun and so cheap 0.30 cent US

:-)
