We traveled to Isla July30-Aug6. We had to fly 5 of us, taking the children on this trip. We couldn't get air far under 535.each (ugh!)
We had a good straight non stop flight! (Which I recommend if your traveling with kids!)
We arrived at the airport, and to our dismay our shuttle service wasn't there! But arrived soon after. We had to wait on a few other couples. We are avalon members so they like to fill the transports before you leave. We took a way we hadn't taken before & didn't get to see downtown Cancun.
We arrive at Ferry, bought 1-way tickets & quickly boarded the ferry. Once arriving at our hotel we checked in & went to our room. to our displeasure we had 3 different air conditioners put in during the next few hours...all seemingly not working! ( I am wondering mentally if this is a bad sign first few hours)
Anyhow, we got an a/c that semi-worked the rest of the week. We got a few items at the super market & went to bed soon after. We awoke the next day the kids were ready to swim. During the week we fell in love with oqui estoi
(spelling sorry) Pizza NOW I think it means.
The kids would order then wait for their own "pizza" to be made. Delicious! We ate Tres` Amigos, French bistro, so many places I feel guilty not naming them all. Everywhere we ate was delicious!
We did Garrafon one day. it was Wonderful EXCEPT someone stole my son's hats. 2 hats stolen right off our chairs.
Bummer! But it was great & all 5 of us snorkeled, even my 7 yr old. We spent the week sunning, swimming touring the island, shopping and even went to cancun for a day.
We are waiting tonight confirmations of our April 06 trip- days 22-29. Isla is so special! We love it, and I am so grateful they are so open to us being there, visiting snapping photo's. Isla has some great folks.
