Trip Report Day 4 We Greeted the day bright and early to meet Tony for our Wale Shark Adventure. Michael had an unfortunate bout of Montezumas Revenge and decided to stay at the hotel. Pinquinos wasnt quite ready to open so we headed for French Bistro. I had the beach Special with the worlds greatest potatoes and Kate had a waffle with fruit. Highly recommended. We met back up with tony and greeted our fellow travelers. Bill, Dorothy and Mateja are all Canadians who have moved to Mexicos Pacific coast, near Puerto Vallarta. We dropped them and Beto off at Contoy Island and took off for the adventure of a lifetime.

We drove. No whale sharks. And drove. No whale sharks. And drove. Still no whale sharks. We used 2 and1/2 tanks of gas and never found any sharks. Last year, we went on a cool, cloudy day and saw more than 20 whalesharks and 15 manta rays. Perhaps it was just too hot and sunny to venture to the surface today. We gave up after 4 hours of looking. When we got back to Contoy, Beto had an amazing tic-n-xic lunch for us. I will probably make the Contoy trip again just for the food! On the way back in, we could see Michael waiting for us on the rooftop at Jax, his favorite spot. We took Kate to sunset grill for drinks and watched a beautiful, cloud-filled sunset. We heard that our conga friends were playing at Brisas grill and headed down Medina for dinner. The food was fantastic! Kates tuna pizza may have paled in comparison to Rolandis but our Grouper with Herbs was amazing.

Dinner with our feet in the sand and great music. Couldnt ask for more.
