It's Lynn's birthday today. I slipped a card under her door late last night. It tells her to go to the top floor at 8am and enjoy a birthday massage from Maryann Burns. It's a beautiful spot for a massage. You can see all over the island from up there and feel a wonderful breeze.
It's a big day for Ryan too. He's going for his certification at 1pm today.
A few of us decide to go to Nauti beach and snorkel around the Avalon. Chuck, myself, Ryan, Joe and Lynn hop in the water. Kevin is on the beach with our belongings. We take off under the bridge. I am amazed at how much more sand there is under there, it's so shallow. Last year it was pretty well hollowed out and nice and deep there. I see some fish and then spot a good size puffer. Ryan and I start following it but he's too fast for us. Chuck headed over towards the rocks in that lagoon area where the water breaks and waves us over. There's big rock there and if you swim around behind it it gets deep and there are tons of fish. He points to the rock and there are a bunch of soft corals on it swaying with the ebb and flow. It's beautiful. There are mushrooms clinging to the rock and some type of polyps and even a frog spawn or anemone, I'm not sure which but it's white with bright pinky purple tips. It's the most colorful coral that I've seen here. It makes me miss our old salt water tank. We had one for 12 years and just broke it down a few months ago. Alot of work! I'm so happy we found this spot. There's all kinds of fish too and some real tiny guys also.
Lynn heads back to let Kevin have a chance and that lasts about 4 minutes. Whatever. I'm done trying. When we all do finally come out I see Lynn and Kevin talking with a woman on the beach, a very BIG woman and.......... Oh God , she's completely naked. Very nice, very talkative. She is slathering sunscreen on and then I notice she's wearing a g-string. OK so she's not completely naked. Well now here come the boys, they're 16 you know and it's alot for them too see. I am proud to say they handled themselves very well. Headed to Buho's for some lunch and so the boys could do some recon.
Lynn, Joe, Kevin and I headed back to the house and Ryan and Chuck went off diving.
Sandy (a friend from home) and her boyfriend Patrick are over. I fire up some cocktails and take a swim and relax by the pool. It gets hot in that sun. I can only take so much at a time so I take breaks under the palapa by the pool. Play a game then back in the sun. This went on all afternoon. In the sun, out of the sun, in the sun, out of the sun. Doesn't that sound great! That's all there is to do. YIPPEE!!!
I'm waiting with baited breath to see if my Ry guy is a certified diver. I see a boat pulling up to the Zama pier next door, it's them. I could see his smile all the way back to the beach. I videotaped it. That'll be my next venture-learning how to post that.
Here's my certified diver. :)
I'm so happy for him! It's a beautiful sunset.
We have a great dinner and enjoy a three milks cake that Zina arranged for me. It says Feliz Cumpleanos. We sing happy birthday and it's another wonderful day in paradise!
It's Sunday, Chuck and I get up early and go for our walk. It's very windy and cloudy and it starts to rain. Even the rain is good when you're here.
Brooke and Paul are coming over for lunch and bringing ribs and chicken. We met them last year. Paul is a friend of an old friend of Mim's from Australia. They bought a condo at Ixchel on Nauti beach. Cocktails and lots of laughs and a really funny volleyball game today.
Chuck and I sneak off to go to Sergio's for the meeting but everyone I asked had no clue what I was talking about. Oh well. We stop at Picu's and grab some ceviche and head home. Hauled our drunk asses into bed by 10pm. I don't think I'm going to feel too good in the morning.
