Isla October 2009 Day 4
Well, today is Sunday and for us that means it is “Rib Day”. Last year on Sunday, we went to Tino’s the Rib Man, for some of the best grilled ribs. He cooks both boneless and bone-in ribs and you have to try both. However, we have read a lot about the Soggy Peso and we decide to give it a try. An apology is in order. My wife and I enjoy great food and wine and love to share our experiences with anyone who will listen. After trying to write these trip reports and reviewing all the pictures, we were either starving every time we sat down to eat or we just plain forgot to take many food pictures. Either way, next time we WILL have more food pictures.
We had the usual coffee on the balcony, cleaned up and grabbed breakfast at Bamboo. You could not beat the price for breakfast each morning. We talked over the Rib plan for the day and headed to the beach for an early start. On the way to Sergio’s we got a picture of Isla barbed wire

Just take some wet concrete, spread it on the top of the wall and place broken glass into it. You have a simple and inexpensive security system for your property.

We spent a couple of hours on the beach at Sergio’s, then grabbed a Taxi to the Soggy Peso around 1:00 p.m.

Soggy Peso is simply great. They have IMHO the coldest beer on the island. They also have, as they will explain to you, the “F***** Coldest” beer. The later, when opened, will foam ice out the top of the bottle. We spent the afternoon here enjoying the day. Their ribs are great. We had the combo platter which are Smoked Ribs, Chicken and Sausage with beans and coleslaw. It think the combo was $12.00 US.

Can you see another pattern here? We head back to the Hotel to lay out by the pool and maybe just maybe a little siesta. There might have been some snoring going on too. No way, not me.

Time to clean up and get ready for the evening. We walked over to the Sunset Grill and watched this group play and catch another sunset. Don’t know who they were, but their music was really good.

With sun down over the horizon we stop at Jax’s for Happy Hour. After the big lunch and beverages we decide to grab some tacos al pastor from Medina’s Tacos and head for the balcony at the hotel. The end of another super day.
