After sleeping in a little Friday morning, we are back to Chicago Deli and Pancake House for the usual breakfast. It is a gorgeous day today and Joe and I decide to head down to the south side of the island. We stop at Maria del Mar and walk along the garden pathways to take some pictures. Then we are off headed towards Punta Sur via the cliff side road…I have not really driven a golf cart much in previous years and decide that I want to take the wheel today. This is also great for Joe since he can get his right arm in the sun, for a change, to even out his drivers-arm tan. We continue down the cliff side and see one of the navy boats speeding by doing some sort of maneuvers…we are not sure where they are headed. Continuing down the coast, we want to stop at Punta Sur and make the climb to the top of the lighthouse. Well…the lighthouse is locked up and we are not sure if they let you climb it any longer or if they charge to do so. We didn’t see any signs indicating an entrance fee, however we didn’t check with anyone either.
Since Joe missed out on going to La Bruja for dinner Thursday night, he is really craving the breaded grouper. We decide to stop back to the hotel and see if Butch and Kay want to head down to La Gloria with us for a bit of lunch. They want to come along, so the 4 of us pile into the golf cart and make our way to La Bruja. Joe, of course, has the breaded grouper, Butch & Kay share an order of cheese quesadillas, and I get fish tacos. Everything is delicious and the service friendly!
The sunset picture today turned out pretty well.
Dinner that night is at Comono where Butch, Joe and I all have the party tempura shrimp and Kay goes with the garlic butter shrimp. We love the shrimp at Comono!! Following dinner there is a suggestion to stop at Cool for gelato…we have 2 takers. Butch tried the cinnamon and I had the mint chocolate chip, their gelato is heavenly. We cannot believe that a week has gone by already, but day 7 is in the books.
