Isla Mujeres 2006
Day 16 – March 8
“Relax, Relax, Relax!”
After a wonderfully refreshing sleep I bound out of bed at my usual 6am. Ahhhh….what a great way to start the day!
Only a few clouds on the horizon but the air is fresh and the world begs to be explored. By 7am we are on our mopeds and along with Jan and Bruce we zoom our way down the west side of the island, stopping at various spots to enjoy the view. Back up the east side where we detour into the colonias to take a photo of the house that I have dubbed the ‘Crayola House’….
By 8am we are all seated at M & J Cazuela’s for breakfast. Vince and I both enjoy scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon with fresh OJ and Chaya. That should give us energy for the day! Hurrying up to our room we change into swimsuits, pack a bag for the day and hop back on the moped. We are at Sergio’s beach by 9am….our earliest time ever! It is sunny and HOT! We get settled in loungers and prepare to do little else for the rest of the day.
Sergio and his staff are hard at work….
The birds are relaxing…..
Does it get any better than this!?
After many dips in the sea and feeling completely roasted and toasted, we sit back to enjoy another incredible display….
Even the birds are having fun in the glow…
We are on our own for dinner tonight…seems strange! Whatever will we talk about! We end up at Angelo’s where we enjoy a fresh green salad and Hawaiian pizza. We are entertained by this big boy who happily chewed on a steak bone that someone tossed him.
Not about to break with tradition, we make our way to Color de Verano for more yummies. A big bowl of strawberries, kiwi, blueberries and cream. We shared it, but it was hard not to steal some from Vince…it was sooo good!
After so much sun and surf, my eyelids are drooping and together, we make our way back home, quickly falling asleep to the surf crashing below…..I never want to leave this magical place…..
