Well, we arrived after forgetting shaving cream, and then getting a dead turning signal on the way to the airport. The plane got to Cancun early, and can you believe we even got the green light. That is rare for us. We got on the 3:00 ferry over to Isla with sunny skies and Tecate Deb insisted I buy for the ride!
We got off the ferry, and went to exchange money, and got a cab to the Avalon. Check-in was quick, and we were on the beach by 4:20. Thats pretty good time for everything we got done.
We went to dinner at Valasquez. Deb had fish tacos and I had the whole fried fish. Both were not that good. We ate there in Jan., and it was fantastic. Maybe it was just an off nite for the cook. We went into town after dinner, and hit the Super Express for some essentials, and headed back to the Avalon.
The next morning we got up at 5:00, and got the ferry to Puerto Juarez, then a taxi to the bus station to Playa Del Carmen. From there we got a collectivo to Akumal beach. It was a very cloudy day because we were there! We snorkeled with the sea turtles, and it was great. After we got done snorkeling the sun came out of course!
We got back in time for our reservation at Olivias, only to find out that they were out of the lamb Deb wanted. We headed down Hildago to find somewhere else to eat. We stopped at a place called Tequilla I think. Our waiter was way too busy running up and down the street for some reason to even take our drink order, let alone our food order.
We decided to go to Jax. Deb had a fajita steak sandwich, and I had the nachos with habanero sauce. Both were good. We headed back to the Avalon. It was a very long day.
