Isla Mujeres Trip Report 2005

Wednesday 5-11-2005 Day 2

We slept in until 8:00am Julie and I walked to Aluxes, got a cup of coffee and waited for Pam and Mary to get ready. We all walked to Cazuela M&J’s for breakfast. Julie and Mary got ham and cheese omelettes, Pam got scrambled eggs, and I had the cazuela with ham it was all very good. I really like the cazuelas and they stay hot for a long time. We again checked out the seawall damage in daylight this time, it must have been brutal for the days of the storm for all the people of Isla. We headed for Playa Norte early got some sun and floated around on the air mattresses we brought. At 1:30 or so we went to find some shade and a snack, Jax is always good for that (little did we know we would not be able to stop again the rest of the week) we had some drinks , quasadillas and guacamole. We returned to our rooms to find the towels shaped as 2 swans forming a heart with flowers on it. This always seems to make a person smile. We stopped at the hotel bar to talk to Miguel and Romeo. We met fellow message boarders Vee and Tim there, had a very nice chat with them, they are a very nice couple. We had dinner at Angelo’s not a whole lot of diversity here, we all had the shrimp pasta “pacifico” with marinara sauce, again everyone was very pleased with the meal and very full. We walked along the water and enjoyed the breeze, walked around downtown where we ran into Capt. Tony. We chatted with him for a while. We had a couple of drinks at Fayne’s and harrassed the waiter we met last year, he said his name is Miguel but to call him Mikey, he is quite the charmer he gave me the bill and my daughter a rose he made from a napkin. We call it a day and what a beautiful day in the sun it was.:)
