We've been to Isla 5 times in the last 10 years. Have LOVED each and every time. We have never had a bad experience, gotten sick, or had miserable weather. We'd live ther full time if only we didn't have to work..
Want to relay 2 of the best experiences we've ever had. We had gone snorkling at the Hotel Garrafon, place our extra cash in 2 ziplocs to keep water out. After snorkling we went to La Pueblita for lunch and beers. Had a great lunch, paid Joco our waiter and went on our way. Two nights later Joco came running up to us on Hildago. He had been looking for us for the last two days. It seems that our pecos had stuck together we over paid him 500 pecos. We had just been discussing earlier that we'd gone through more money than we had thought. We were very grateful and surprised that Joco had traced us down. After many thanks and a large tip Joco invited us back to lunch the next day. THANK YOU JOCO.. Next evening we ate at Don Chepo's and those wet bills stuck together. The waiter caught us as we were leaving to give us back lots of change.
NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY, PEOPLE OF ISLA ARE VERY HONEST. We will return for another great time.
